Although the program is called Buffalo Youth Wrestling, this team is made up of local children from several area schools. We have the priviledge of training kids from Buffalo, Ceredo, Kellogg, Kenova, Lavalette and Prichard elementary schools. I have said for many years, Wayne County has some of the finest athletes in West Virginia. Our goal is to teach the basic fundamentals of this sport and prepare our wrestlers for the next level. It is my personal opinion that one must become fundamentally sound in the basics of any sport before they can become successful. We are the feeder program for Spring Valley High School, therefore, with the addition of this program, we hope to build on their success. I want to express to the parents that my intensions as the team's coach are not self centered. I do not and will not place myself or any of the other coaches above the best interest of the kids in this program. In saying so ... I hope to build a coach-to-parent relationship with each of you while watching your child gain knowledge, experience and the skills needed in hopes of becoming a future State Champion.
